My Middle-cat (her name is Josie) has been travelling recently but she is now home. I thought I'd take this post to explain why she is called the Middle-Cat.
When I was a kitten, and went to live with my human (Chris), his friend Al explained to him that cats don't see a difference between themselves and humans; that we see humans as simply bigger cats.
At that point, I became the Little-Cat and Chris became the Big-Cat. I was like that for ten years before Josie came along.
Since there was already a Big-Cat in my life, I started calling her the Middle-Cat (she was smaller than the Big-Cat but larger than me). The name has stuck and she has become one of my favourite humans.
I miss her when she's travelling but (don't tell her) the Big-Cat and I have fun together when she's gone. I sleep in her spot on the bed, the Big-Cat spends more time with me, and I usually get brushed longer in the morning.
But no matter how much fun we have, we are both happier when the Middle-Cat comes home. She has nice shoes to play with and she smells nicely.

Vancouver Canucks
I have a secret that I need to admit; I am a Vancouver Canucks hockey fan.
It may not be a surprise to many of my readers that I am a hockey fan (I am a CANADIAN cat after all) but it may surprise some cats out there that I am not a Panthers fan (a little to obvious for my tastes); or perhaps I should be a fan of the Ducks (I do like little, flightless ducklings).
But the Vancouver Canucks are my home team and they did go to the Stanley Cup Finals the year I was born (1994); so they will always be my team.
Unfortunately, I have been waiting for them to go back to the Finals since then but every year I cross my paws and hope that this will be the year...maybe the Canucks will win it all and I'll be able to eat Fancy Feast out of the top of the Stanley Cup (I'm sure my friend Roberto would bring the cup over).
I think that if friend-Roberto gets hot in the playoffs, we could win the Final in 3 games (the fourth game of the Finals would be forfeited by the other team because the Canucks had kicked their butts so hard in the first three games).

PS If this isn't the Canuck's year, Go Giants!!

It's finally spring here
Well if you go by the calendar it was officially spring yesterday.
If you go by the weather, it is the start of spring today. The weather is beautiful, I've been out on the catio (thankfully, no raccoons), and the Big-Cat is outside mowing the lawn (photo credit to PK).
Spring is my favourite season. The days are getting longer, the flowers are starting to smell nice, and there are little birds being born. Oh how I love little flightless birdies.
I think I might go outside and see if I can catch myself a nice big moth for lunch.

Last Episode of Battlestar Galactica
On Friday night the Big-Cat and I will be sitting in front of the TV watching the very last episode of the re-imagined version of Battlestar Galactica. We both think it is one of the smartest, well written shows on TV right now and we’ll be sad to see it end.
It has dealt with many issues that make up our society today: racism, love, hatred, xenophobia, relationships, loyalty, war, honour, and how some people could twist logic to become suicide bombers.
And it did it all with characters that seemed very real; each having their own strengths and faults. People you can relate to and understand. There are no fake people that are like Hollywood super-human heroes or cartoon-like villains.
Unfortunately, some people never gave the show a chance because they don’t watch Science Fiction; but in my opinion, there is a more realistic portrayal of what makes people tick on this show than on almost any other show on TV.
If you haven’t been watching this show; why the frak not?

Driving
Yesterday was my 15th birthday; so I am officially in my 16th year.
I've decided to start studying for my driver's license so that I am ready to write the exam when I turn 16. I hope to get my license right away so that I can go for long drives in the country looking for the Fancy Feast factory; maybe they will have an outlet store.

Middle cat
My middle-cat is away again and I miss her. She went to a far off land called Toronto; a place so far away I don't think they even have Fancy Feasts.
I tried to go with her by hiding in her carry-on luggage but I was found out. I had packed some Fancy Feasts for me and some cheese and crackers for her.
When I was caught, she took me and the Fancy Feasts out of the bag; but kept the cheese and crackers.
I wish she was here to open the cans.

It's my birthday soon
I'm going to be 15 human years old (105 cat years) on March 14th.
At some point (soon), I am going to stop counting but in the meantime, I have registered at PetMart and Petcetera.
I'm hoping my big-cats don't invite the raccoon or the grey cat (who both have recently visited my back yard) to my surprise party.

Yoga
My big-cats went to a yoga class on the weekend and when they came home they kept talking about how hard they worked.
I don't understand that since cats are naturally built to do yoga; although we would never do a 90 minute class.
The big-cats also described the class as doing their practise. What's that mean? Were there lawyers and doctors teaching the class?
PK
PS I wonder if the big-cats had to clean themselves during their practise.
