I'm goin' to call him Billy

The big-cats were away last weekend visiting Ucluelet and on their way home they stopped at Coombs to do a little shopping at the wonderful market.

While at the market, the goats were out on the roof and the big-cats decided to bring one home as a friend for me. Unfortunately Pepe (Middle-Cat's car) doesn't have a roof rack and so they couldn't bring the goat home. The big-cats left their address and a map for the goat to come on his own.

So if you're driving on Vancouver Island and see a nice goat with a sign saying "Richmond" please pick him up and bring him to us. I'm looking forward to having a friend to play with and the Middle-Cat is looking forward to making some Chevre.

BC Ferries

The big-cats are going to Vancouver Island today. The best part of them going out of town is that sometimes they give me my regular evening Fancy Feast in the morning; which today, they did.

I hope they have a safe trip and that the Ferry captain doesn't let the Middle-Cat parallel park the ferry boat.

The last time BC Ferries let a stranger park the boat, bad things happened.

Snakie 2.0

It was a very sad, sad day in the Kaatz family household a few days ago. My Middle-Cat was tackling a big pile of laundry including my quilt. She didn't notice that my Snakie was on the bedspread. For my followers out there who don't remember Snakie, let's just say he was my favourite toy. He smelled really nice and I groomed him every day.

Snakie went through the entire wash cycle. It makes me sad to think of him spinning round and round and drowning. He was beyond saving when Middle-Cat fished him out. She felt pretty badly about it.

So, to make up for it, my Big-Cats went to the Snakie store and brought me home a new one today. I'm calling him Snakie 2.0. It's been love at first sniff.

Why I Don't Give a Meow About Twitter

My Middle-Cat came home a few weeks ago all excited because she finally figured out how to use Twitter. She went on and on about Tweeting, Tweeps and hashtags and used a lot of other weird words.

I was interested at first because I thought it had something to do with birdies. You know how I love little birdies. Especially ones with broken wings.

But she wasn't talking about birds at all. Middle-Cat was talking about a website. I don't get it... why would she want to spend more time on the computer when she could be brushing my fur or giving me a Fancy Feast?

Okay, Tweeps, who's got my back?

A nice, quiet weekend

Well, the big-cats are away this weekend in Whistler, which means I will be able to catch up on my sleep.

Since the big-cats won’t be here on Friday, I tried to get Friday’s Fancy Feast on Thursday night in addition to Thursday’s Fancy Feast…but it didn’t work. So I tried to get Friday’s Fancy Feast on Friday morning (makes sense to me) but it still didn’t work.

But I think my wonderful niece Brenna is going to come visit me on Saturday to make sure I have water and food. Maybe if I don’t hiss at her right away, I might get both Friday and Saturday’s Fancy Feasts when she comes by.

And I have her Backyardigans DVD…if I don’t get what I want, it might just get scratched.

PS If I don’t end up blogging this weekend, you’ll know why (see attached picture).

Some Kind of Wonderful

Well the big-cats just spent a nice sunny Sunday afternoon watching the 1987 John Hughes film "Some Kind of Wonderful". They were acting all kind of strange... talking to the screen, hiding their faces during the mushy dialogue, getting all misted up when it looked like Watts was going to be going home by herself, and actually cheered when Duncan showed up at the party. What a couple of geeks. The movie is even older than I am.

Besides, I don't know what kind of film is so wonderful without cats in it.

June 6, 1944

65 years ago today soldiers of the Allied Powers invaded Europe to free it from occupation by Nazi Germany. Thousands on both sides were killed or wounded on that day alone. It is all very sad.

Hug a soldier today and say thanks.

Shoes

I love shoes. My Middle-Cat has lots of shoes and sometimes I get to try them on. The Middle-Cat's feet are bigger than mine, so her shoes always fit on my feet.

The Middle-Cat only has two feet and so she only buys one pair of each of the shoes she buys.

The trouble is I have four feet and when I want to go out, I have to wear two different pairs; which is a bit of a fashion faux-pas.

I need to convince the Middle-Cat to buy more shoes; or at least two sets of each pair she buys.
